Mozer organizes the vast moving of the European Commission
Mozer organizes the vast moving of the European Commission

On 8 January, the Liège company Mozer Belux started work on an exceptional contract for the European Commission. Management of the logistical operations and the relocation will involve 500,000 hours of work and 80 daily full-time jobs over a period of four years.

The contract signed by Mozer is one of the biggest contracts ever signed in the European removals sector and the company will leverage its skills and expertise to carry out this new task.  Its long experience (almost 70 years) and a competitively price offer helped to secure the signature of this mega-contract.

The aim is to be able to move some 35,000 European officials, some of whom work in the famous Berlaymont, the Commission headquarters in Brussels. The operation to relocate the services of the European executive body involves more than 80 buildings, sites and offices in:

  • Belgium
  • the Netherlands
  • Luxembourg

"This is a job with many different facets. Our employees are qualified and trained in the many tasks involved in this job, to ensure a totally smooth service. It is important that we are able to travel around Brussels, carry boxes and furniture and also dismantle and assemble it", stated Olivier Mozer (CEO).

The company's famous green lorries will often be driving through the European districts of the capital and will become a common sight. Around ten vehicles a day - with cutting edge technology and low CO2 emissions - will be used to fulfil the contract.

The story of this family-owned company began in Liège in 1945, when its founder Valentin Mozer started his business with one van. The business has enjoyed increasing success since then and expanded its activity by specialising in the transportation of fragile and high-technology equipment.

It now has more than 100 employees and works in several different areas, including:

  • the relocation of companies and administrations
  • international removals
  • logistics for fragile equipment and high technology

It currently has two additional sites, in Brussels and Antwerp, as well as its original headquarters in Liège.
