On 16 August, HEC Liège, the management school of the Université de Liège, became the first full Belgian business school (from degree to PhD level) to receive a double accreditation from AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System).
Such recognition is not awarded to everyone, but is the result of a thorough examination process performed by the AACSB auditors, who are all Business School Deans. It was awarded as a result of the excellence of the School's programmes, the supervision offered to its students, its research, its involvement in its economic environment, its Alumni network and its organisation.
It expresses the Management School's commitment to train students to the highest standards of excellence, so that they can go on to be creative, multi-skilled and responsible leaders able to meet the challenges of the future in a global context.
According to Albert Corhay, Vice-Chancellor of the Université de Liège, "This new international recognition is a success for HEC Liège's comprehensive strategy to enhance its international position. For our current and future students, it is a guarantee of management training that meets the highest quality standards".
Receiving these quality labels has a direct impact on the visibility and international standing of HEC Liège; it will allow it to enhance the quality of its portfolio of partner universities around the world, which can only improve its students' study visits abroad. It also gives a higher international profile to the university diploma issued to its graduates.
