The Impact (International Meeting in Performing Arts & Creative Technologies) project was launched on 2 February in Liège. This is a Euregional and cross-sectoral network which plans to incorporate performing arts into the field of new technologies and digital and media arts.
At a time when technologies are increasingly investing in society, the Impact project wants to encourage projects that feature a mix of artists, researchers and manufacturers. There are three watchwords: creation, innovation and training.
For this initiative, the Theatre of Liège has surrounded itself with around ten partners from the Meuse-Rhine Euregion such as the Cultural Centre of Hasselt, Jazz Maastricht and the cultural sector of the city of Aachen.
Impact is therefore central to the cultural and creative industries, now a sector with high growth potential.
With a budget of approximately 4,000,400 euros, supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Impact project also intends to organise training courses and shows that showcase new technologies in order to attract young people to the sector.
