A Smurf in Moscow

The first Brussels Airlines flight to Sheremetyevo airport was an opportunity to celebrate the anniversary of the creation of the Smurfs.

On Sunday 2 June, Aérosmurf, the Brussels Airlines plane in the colours of the little blue men, set down for the first time on the runway of Moscow's largest airport. The Belgian airline had previously flown into Domodedovo. On the tarmac, passengers were welcomed by the Belgian Ambassador, HE Jean-Arthur Régibeau, officials from Sheremetyevo, around 50 journalists and... Papa Smurf! The latter's presence undoubtedly had an effect on local press coverage.

This event was organised at the initiative of the AWEX/Hub Brussels office and thanks to their local contacts; WBI was also involved, providing the embassy with the costume. Collaboration with Visit Brussels also led to the staging of an exhibition of 25 photos by a Brussels photographer. It was inaugurated by the Ambassador and will be open in a very busy part of the airport until the end of June.
