68 working farms in Wallonia will be opening their doors from 10.00am until 6.00pm so everyone can discover life on the farm!
They will be delighted to welcome you and show you the daily reality of farming. Where farmers sow, grow, nurture and transform.. Where animals graze and chew the cud. Where people grind, knead and beat. Where the farmer prepares the basic flavours of our food. Where craftspeople refine our local specialities..
You will be able to explore the area and try local craft products, and various entertainment is planned for children.
In other words, a lovely family weekend for both young and old!
Personally, I've planned to go to the farm of LEROY-DESCHUYTER at Templeuve to discover the world of donkeys and bee-keeping,
as well as the Pont D'AmourOstrich farm at Sorinnes, which specialises in breeding flightless birds. Since they're not very well-known at home, children will find these a real novelty!
