A new Director of International Affairs for BioWin

On 17 October in Gosselies, the BioWin competitiveness cluster announced the appointment of Marc Deschamps as the new Director of International Affairs.

BioWin, created in 2006, is the benchmark regional player for all partners in the field of health biotechnology and medical technologies in Wallonia. The competitiveness cluster has committed to several initiatives with a view to promoting the scientific and industrial excellence of Wallonia on the global stage. BioWin has about 190 members, eight of which are active in fields as varied as biopharmacy, cellular therapy, radiation applied to health, medical devices and in-vitro diagnosis, as well as bioproduction and data science.

It is in this context that Marc Deschamps will integrate his new position as Director on 5 November. Before joining BioWin, Marc was Managing Director of Delphi Genetics, a Belgian biotechnology company specialising in the production of plasmid DNA and interim CEO of eTheRNA Immunotherapies, a Belgian biotechnology company working at the clinical development phase on immuno-oncology, and which develops a specific ARNm platform to stimulate the immune system.

Therefore, it is a great honour that Marc Deschamps is joining BioWin and is preparing to accept the many challenges that await him. His main mission will consist in contributing to the expansion of the competitiveness cluster's visibility beyond Wallonia, but also to strengthening partnerships with high-level international centres, as well as supporting the globalisation of the SMEs that are members of the centre, in close cooperation with AWEX (Wallonia Export-Investment Agency).
