The Green Building Cluster is proud to announce the signature of the Framework Agreement for the expansion of green building and sustainable architecture with its Belgian counterpart, the Green Building Cluster of Wallonia.

The conclusion of this agreement cements already well-established collaboration between the two partners since the creation of the ACCORD Cluster of Excellence in Green Building, in Bas-Saint-Laurent in 2010.

The aim of this agreement is to facilitate and intensify scientific exchanges and the exchanging of experience between the Green Building Cluster of Wallonia and the Green Building Cluster of Bas-Saint-Laurent (Quebec) in areas relating to the green building and sustainable development. The two partners have agreed to define and implement coordinated training and research programmes in this field.

“After several years of spontaneous collaboration, the Green Building Cluster of Wallonia and the Green Building Cluster are officially cementing an alliance that will encompass the implementation of joint projects. As a result of two missions by the Green Building Cluster of Bas-Saint-Laurent to Belgium, several projects have already come into being in Quebec. This partnership will facilitate realising our common ambitions. Together, we will work to promote green building on two continents”, stated Ms Claire Sirois, Director of the Green Building Cluster.

About the ACCORD clusters of excellence

The ACCORD process is a priority initiative by the government to develop the economies of Quebec's regions. The Minister of Innovation Science and Economic Development is responsible for its implementation. The aim of ACCORD is to position Quebec's regions as world-renowned hubs for specific industrial skills. It relies on the strengths, mobilisation and dynamism of the business people in the regions.
