11th Dakar Rally for Colingua

The organisers of the Dakar Rally (formerly Paris-Dakar) have again placed their trust in the translation firm Colingua for the eleventh year running. Colingua Traduction's translators cover "Live broadcasts" of the race, which, this year, is held in Paraguay, Bolivia and Argentina, and translate into English and Spanish the press releases of the official website dakar.com, which was consulted by more than 7 million single visitors last year.

Since 2007, Colingua's translators have adapted to changes to the race and new technologies. The information translated by the Colingua team is the official news of ASO, the rally's organiser. This information is broadcast direct on the race's website and is also communicated to international news agencies. Every day, the translators also translate other sections of the race's official website, including daily summaries of the stages and interviews with drivers.

Colingua's translators use a rota system during the rally in order to be as close as possible to the reality of the race and the Live broadcasts, for a total of about 500 hours of translation, 24 hours a day, over the two weeks of the race.

Created in 2000 in Liège, the Colingua translation firm also has an office in Brussels. Thanks to its experience with the Dakar race, over the years, it has become the reference in sport translations (in particular with about 15 professional cycling races, marathons and semi-marathons, etc.), and in particular in the motor sports sector thanks to its participation in other internationally famous rallies, such as the Merzouga Rally (Morocco, 2016), the Desafío Inca (Peru, 2013 and 2014), the Central Europe Rally (2008) and the Silk Way Rally (Russia, 2009, 2010 and 2011).
