The 29th and 30th August, the Nuit des Choeurs (Night of Choirs) will take over the ruins of the Villers Abbey in Villers-la-Ville, offering visitors an entirely unique evening of glamour!
Returning for its 15th edition, the Nuit des Choeurs will be offering us the perfect combination of music and wonder with a show alternating between six vocal ensembles. Known for being the most beautiful concert-promenade in the Kingdom, the public have never disappointed with music as prestigious as its authors, crowned by a collective crescendo accompanied by a fantastic fireworks display.
The programme
Scene 1: YAEL NAIM and her choir (Pop acoustic)
- The Franco-Israeli songwriter-composer will be performing her most famous works.
Scene 2: SISTER ACT (Musical comedy)
- After more than 200 shows at the Mogador theatre in Paris, this musical comedy will be lighting up the Abbey with its dazzling performances packed with energy.
Scene 3: THE MALE CHOIR OF ST PETERSBURG (Opera and tradition)
- Composed of 25 men and directed by Vadim Afanasiev, these vocal virtuosos will be performing works from Russia's greatest composers.
Scene 4: THE ORIGINAL JAMES BROWN BACKING VOCALISTS (Funk and acoustic)
- James Brown's original musicians and backing vocalists will be bringing back the mythical sounds of this legend.
Scene 5: THE CHOIR OF THE FOREIGN LEGION (Myths and customs)
- This Army Corps formed of legionaries from some 16 nationalities will share songs that sum up the entire philosophy behind daily military life.
Scene 6: THE LONDON QUARTET (a cappella humour)
- This funny vocal ensemble will be revisiting songs from a classical and popular repertoire in a rather extravagant way.
