Aline Bouvy (1974, Brussels) lives and works in Brussels and Luxembourg.
She studied at the École de Recherche Graphique in Brussels and at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. The sculptures, objects and installations that emerge from her work are difficult to classify. In 2019, she spent a few months in residence at the "Künstlerhaus Bethanien" in Berlin and was fascinated by the visual world of the Weimar period. For her exhibition "PUP" in the exhibition space of the Künstlerhaus, she was inspired by advertisements, publicity and literature from this time of upheaval.
Fascinated by the progressive and uncompromising creative will of the artists of the time, she distilled graphic elements and motifs from vast amounts of source images and combined them in space with her doll objects and grotesque ceramics.
For her exhibition at the IKOB, she will reassemble these works created in Berlin and for the very first time she will create a performance.
