Air Belgium has obtained the permits required to fly over Russian airspace and on 3 June, the company will take off for Hong Kong.
Air Belgium is a Belgian long-haul charter company which is headquartered in Mont-Saint-Guibert (Walloon-Brabant). The company, which opted to base itself at Brussels South Charleroi airport, offers low-cost flights for business and leisure passengers.
It was missing a key document to allow the company to make its very first commercial flight to Asia, which will now take place on 3 June, between Charleroi and Hong Kong.
The flight was initially planned for April but was delayed in order to resolve the final details. Any passengers affected by the change in date will be dealt with individually and offered a tailored solution.
Niky Terzakis, CEO of Air Belgium said, “now that we have all the green lights, we can’t wait to welcome our first passengers between Brussels Charleroi Airport and Hong Kong. Meanwhile, we’re working hard to have the third plane ready by the end of June and are preparing the first flights to Mainland China, which are expected to launch in the coming months."
The company provides an intense programme of flights for third party companies and has therefore already transported nearly 10,000 passengers.
