This year’s Brussels Book Fair will be held at the Tour & Taxis site from 9 to 13 March. Belgotaku will get the party started on Friday with the “Pop & Geek” night! Register by 7 March.
This is the time for the world of literature of the imagination to take pride of place for a moment among editors. Whether it’s science fiction, goth or fantasy, there’s no lack of readers. This genre has the great strength of embracing every taste and generation: from budding magicians to notorious ogres to sinister vampires, via time- and space-travel – there’s always a book with your name on it.
So the Fair is dedicating its Friday soirée to this literary genre, which always has something new to say!
In association with Belgotaku, the large community promoting Asian culture within Belgium, the Fair intends to open the grand “POP & GEEK” night with its very first Cosplay competition! Kouiti Shimaboshi will chair the panel of the grand competition, which also includes Belgian manga magician Moonkey, and the General Co-ordinator of the Brussels Book Fair, Gregory Laurent. It will draw together manga fans, cartoon-strip buffs, animated cartoons, video games and comics.
Registrations will be open until 7 March.
Warning: the number of guests is limited!
- Individual Cosplay: 20 people going on-stage for a maximum of 1 minute. 20
- Group Cosplay: 7 groups going on-stage for a maximum of 2 minutes. 20
You are free to select your preferred topic. However, we do ask you not to wear Albator (Harlock), Emeraldas or Ban (Tochiro) costumes, as Belgotaku members will be ‘Cosplayed’ like this to present the competition.
