Call for applications | Cancer research: IARC pilot experiment

As part of the Excellence Scholarships programme, Wallonia-Brussels International (WBI) is setting up a pilot scheme with the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in order to support two post-doctoral researchers.

A specialised World Health Organization (WHO) Agency, the IARC aims to promote international collaboration in cancer research for cancer prevention.

Candidate profile

Doctoral researchers wanting to undertake a postdoctoral programme.

Please note that an excellent level of English is required for this postdoctoral stay at IARC. 

Duration of the programme

1 year, renewable once.

Location of the postdoctoral internship

The postdoctoral stay will take place at the International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon (France).

Submitting your application

Applications must be submitted by 1 February 2025 at the latest, using the form downloadable from the WBI website.

Composition of the jury

  • Fund for Scientific Research – F.R.S.-FNRS
  • Operational Directorate General for the Economy, Employment and Research of the Wallonia Public Service (DG06)
  • International Agency for Research on Cancer
  • WBI

Financial arrangements

  • Monthly payment: 3,000 euros/month for a maximum of two years
  • Return travel and insurance on request
