La Grand Poste de Liège among the finalists for the MIPIM Awards

The international market for property professionals (MIPIM) is finally reopening its annual trade fair after the pandemic. It will take place in Cannes from 15 to 18 March and one of the 46 selected projects is Belgian, La Grand Poste de Liège. This unique venue, which aims to boost innovation in all its forms, will compete with four other finalists in the best renovated building category.

It is the leading global forum for property professionals. MIPIM is the key meeting place for decision-makers in the international property industry; attendees can form lasting relationships, see new projects presented and lay the foundations for rewarding collaboration. In just four days, MIPIM participants can discover the sector's latest challenges and trends. 26,000 participants attended in 2019, including 5,400 investors, 3,100 exhibitors, more than 430 journalists and 100 countries, in 19,000 m² of exhibition space. An exclusive platform will be made available for participants to develop their networks. Lastly, the MIPIM Awards will reward the property projects selected from around the world.

"The winners will be announced at the MIPIM Awards ceremony at 6.30pm on Thursday 17 March in the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes."

La Grand Poste de Liège is a finalist along with other projects from around the world, and has been selected in the best renovated building category. It was originally just a post office, built in 1896, but it really took up its duties at the start of the 20th century until the beginning of the 21st. It was renovated in 2017 and became a symbol of the Liège creative district in 2021. Today, La Grand Poste is a place for emulation dedicated to creative companies and entrepreneurs in the new economy. It includes coworking spaces, office spaces, a food market, an artisanal brewery, classrooms, and even a panoramic terrace that offers a beautiful view of the city of Liège and the Meuse river.

Eligibility for the MIPIM Awards would not have been possible without the brilliant work of the architects from Altiplan, who worked on its renovation. They conceived and designed the building's new functions, with restored elements and new spaces.

The MIPIM fair will also feature a Belgian pavilion that brings together the Belgian property community (a collaboration between the Walloon region, Brussels and Flemish private individuals). Once inside the pavilion, visitors will discover the best that Belgium has to offer in the property business.
