The world premiere of the film 11.11.18, the first feature length film in 360° virtual reality, produced by Sébastien Tixador and Django Shrevens, will be presented in New York at the 2019 edition of the Tribeca Film Festival, which will run from 24 April to 05 May.
A virtual reality, immersive fiction experience, 11.11.18, which will be competing at the Tribeca Film Festival, was created to mark the centenary of the Armistice.
Inspired by real-life events taking place during World War I, it tells the story of a German pilot who has fallen into an enemy trench and is trying, with the help of the chaplain, to blend in with the crowd and find a way to escape as rumours of an armistice spread (...). The two directors’ aim was to bring the everyday reality of the trenches to life and to add a human dimension to the narration.
Produced by Les Films de la Récré, the experience was supported by the Région de Bruxelles Capitale and co-produced by the RTBF, Poolpio and Scope Pictures, with the support of Screen Brussels.
The Tribeca Film Festival is an independent American film festival founded in 2002 held every year in New York, in the Tribeca district of Manhattan.
