"Wood and materials" is the theme chosen for the 16th edition of the Wood & Habitat trade show. This gathering is a great opportunity which invites both professionals and the general public to expand their horizons.

From construction to interior décor via design and architecture, wood blends harmoniously with so many materials. Available for discovery this year are classic combinations such as wood and stone, wood and concrete, wood and metal as well as stylish couples such as wood and glass. Less common blends will be also be on the programme, including the courageous combination of wood and textiles (felt and wool) or even wood and straw.

A this 16th edition you're bound to make new contacts and enjoy a range of events thanks to the great variety of exhibitors and different sectors being represented. The public can take advantage of a full programme of conferences designed to respond to any questions that visitors may want to ask about the uses and properties of wood in construction, renovation and design.

Design and interior design attract an ever growing number of people, and the design exhibition ,created and organised by the magazine Déco Idées, will give enthusiasts the chance to discover unmissable new ideas for contemporary interior décor. This trade show, which is open to all, will showcase wood in combination with other materials.

The “Info Bois” space, situated at the trade show entrance and hosted by completely independent specialists, will allow visitors, both professional and private, to get answers to their questions on how to use wood in construction, whether technical, practical or financial.

In partnership with the Centre des métiers du patrimoine de la Paix-Dieu (Paix-Dieu centre for traditional crafts), Compagnons du Devoir (skilled workers guild), the Union des Artisans du Patrimoine (union of heritage craftsmen) and the Centre de Formation Bois (wood training centre), the Wood & Habitat trade show will create a Wood Training and Trades Space  at the entrance of Hall 2 where, between information stands and demonstration areas, visitors will be able to browse the unbelievable variety of wood trades and the great masters that are reviving the work of artisan craftsmen.

"Rencontres Filière bois " (a wood industry networking event), the 9th edition of which will take place on Friday 21st March 2014, was created on the initiative of several organisations from forest owners to wood traders, via woodcutters, manufacturers of construction material and furniture, research and training organisations etc.
