Venyo, a company based in Gosselies (Charleroi) in Wallonia, develops a flight simulator for Boeing 737NG, one of the best sellers of the American aircraft manufacturer. Recently, the company announced that its product’s first commercial unit had been officially certified as “FTD level 2”.
“According to the latest standards of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the fixed-base simulator presents the highest level of fidelity to the reference plane that we could provide for the airline pilot training market”, explains Jean-Claude Streel, Venyo’s development director, in a press release.
This B737NG simulator is installed at SIM Aviation Group in Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG). Since 2008, Venyo has been working discretely on a revolutionary flight simulator prototype which was launched at its World Premiere at the Paris Air Show in 2013.
With this European certification, Venyo intends to get ready for the industrialization and worldwide commercialization of its products from Gosselies. Indeed, this is a key step in our expansion and all professionals agree that the aviation sector will need to hire over half million pilots over the next 20 years to meet the air transport’s demand and replace the retirements, explains the company.
“Thanks to our current team composed of 23 people, which should double in the next five years, Venyo aims at becoming a leader in this high-growth sector”, concludes the press release.
This innovative simulator’s first commercial unit, which works with a simple power supply and without hydraulic cylinder, was installed last June at SIM Aviation Group. It’s very different from the “big simulators” of the four leading groups on the market, the “Full Flight Simulators” (FFS), while giving the same sensations to the pilots.
