The two internationally-famous circuits move closer together by signing this agreement. The aim is to promote their respective activities and extend the sport's global reputation.
Nathalie Maillet, Director of Spa-Francorchamps and Susumu Yamashita, Chairman of Mobilityland Corporation (head of the Suzuka circuit) signed this agreement on 8 October in Japan. This is a unique opportunity for the Spa circuit to increase its popularity in Asia and the visibility of the Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix. Suzuka representatives are also delighted with this agreement which will promote their circuit in Wallonia and Europe.
"Suzuka and Spa-Francorchamps are two circuits that are very popular with international drivers and fans due to their histories and their particular and demanding tracks", explained the Francorchamps circuit in a press release. “The objective of this agreement is not only to work together to promote our exciting motor sport events around the world but also to increase the visibility of both our circuits among fans on our respective continents."

Their first joint venture will be announced just after the start of the new Formula 1 season. In the future, they plan to extend their friendship agreement to include promotional and merchandising activities.
