B2Clean disinfects your shopping trolleys

The first thing we all do when out shopping is to grab a shopping trolley, it is after all the most practical way to transport all our purchases. But as they pass from person to person all day long, it is not unreasonable to be concerned about the possible transmission of the coronavirus during this COVID-19 pandemic. That is why B2Clean has proposed its products to retailers.

In effect, to reassure their customers about the spread of coronavirus, retailers are making every effort to systematically disinfect and clean shopping trolleys after every use. They have a dedicated employee for it, they hire staff especially for the occasion or they subcontract the work to a specialised company. In any case, it represents a significant cost to them.

B2Clean, the Namur-based company specialising in surface treatment techniques, comes to the rescue of these retailers by offering them a high-pressure steam cleaning system to disinfect shopping trolleys quickly and ecologically.

But how does their product work? Recent studies have shown that COVID-19 loses its infectious potential from exposure to 65°C for five to ten minutes. However, the B2Clean process is based on the use of high temperature steam (150°C) combined with a high-pressure spray.  It therefore comes into contact with the surface to be treated and creates a thermal shock that causes a change in the physical state of the steam, thereby disinfecting the surface in question.

In other words, if you're planning to go shopping soon, don't worry about using the shopping trolley. You may even be able to see B2Clean while out shopping, because over the next few weeks it will be disinfecting supermarket shopping trolleys at cost price.
