« Brussels is a creative playground. »

Since he was very young, Julien Renault has loved to tinker.
Which is why, when the time came to choose his studies, he headed for industrial design at the Ecole Supérieure d’art et de design (ESAD) in Reims, and the Ecole Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne (ECAL) in Switzerland.
In 2009, Julien Renault moved to Belgium out of love, and stayed because Brussels became his creative playground...

His talent, understated yet unquestioned, led him to work with renowned international brands in the world of design, including Hem, Massproductions and Mattiazzi.
But 2020 would prove to be the year when his career would reach a turning point.
That year, the Danish design brand Hay asked him to design a timeless wooden chair that would last for the next 50 years. A great challenge for our industrial designer. The result? His Pastis collection, named for its ability to evoke a sense of togetherness. A timeless classic that Julien designed and created for bars, brasseries and hotels.

The Julien Renault aesthetic is elegant and timeless, yet assured. As he himself says, his items are simple, but they all possess some detail that gives them their character.
Since 2016, he's been the artistic director of the Kewlox brand, whose storage furniture has been an icon of Belgian design for over 50 years.
In 2023, he received the prestigious "Designer of the year" award from the Knack Weekend and Vif Weekend magazines.

A wonderful accolade for this artist whose designs enhance our everyday lives.
