In spite of Brexit, I-care, a company based in Mons which specialises in artificial intelligence for industry, is accelerating its international growth with the creation of a branch in the UK and the acquisition of a firm in the Netherlands.

I-care Reliability UK will have its head office in London (St. Pancras) and its operational office near Manchester. This presence in the UK is strategic, explains Fabrice Brion, CEO of I-care. "The British market for industrial predictive maintenance is one of the oldest and largest in Europe," he adds.

The Mons-based firm has also bought the company DWMG (Dutch Worldclass Maintenance Group) based in Rotterdam, in the Netherlands. This acquisition will allow it to "strengthen its presence in this market and gain access to a large-scale client, who is a major player in the Dutch energy sector."

With these operations, I-care now has almost 30 offices in 16 countries. The firm also has over 700 clients in 40 countries and employs over 450 people.

The technology company is developing its own industrial predictive maintenance platforms. Using artificial intelligence, I-care aims to enable any type of company to improve the operation of its production tools through a fully digitised process.

"I-care was able to reinvent itself in the face of the COVID-19 crisis, with the commercialisation of the 4.0 thermometer and the acceleration of its own digital transition," continues Fabrice Brion. "In 2020, the firm will exceed its ambitious annual growth targets of 25%."

Here in Belgium, I-care is also competing for the prestigious Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur Of The Year 2020” competition.  The Walloon companies TRBA (Péruwelz), the Dubuisson brewery (Pipaix) and the Technord group, specialised in the integration of industrial electricity projects (Tournai), are also among the finalists. The Awards Ceremony will take place on Monday 7 December 2020 in Brussels.
