On 16 October, RenoWatt, the energy renovation project for public buildings launched in November 2014 by the GRE-Liège in the province of Liège, won an AEE (Association of Energy Engineers) Award in North Carolina, USA.
RenoWatt won its award, presented by the AEE, a professional association with more than 18,000 members, during a prestigious ceremony in Charlotte in the United States. This international reward highlights the management of this energy efficiency project, which aims to improve energy efficiency in public buildings.
The RenoWatt project will make it possible to achieve European and economic targets in the area of energy efficiency. The project was initially implemented in the province of Liège and has since expanded to the whole of Wallonia; it recently became a delegated mission of the Walloon Region and is part of the B.e.FIN (subsidiary of a subsidiary of the S.R.I.W. Environment). RenoWatt will support Walloon municipalities in their energy transition by working in three main areas: energy performance contracts (EPC), building pooling and purchasing offices.
This is not the first international award for RenoWatt, as in May 2017 the European Union awarded it the prize for the best European energy project.
