The "Digital Wallonia International" project has recently been shortlisted by the European Commission as part of the European Enterprise Promotion Awards which reward the most successful initiatives to promote enterprise and entrepreneurship in Europe.
The European Enterprise Promotion Awards, launched at the initiative of the European Commission in 2005, identify and reward quality public or mixed (public/private) policies supporting entrepreneurship at local, regional or national level.
As part of this European competition, the "Digital Wallonia International" project, led by the Wallonia Export-Investment Agency, in collaboration with the Agence du Numérique, was shortlisted for one of the six categories defined by the Commission: Supporting the Internationalisation of Business.
Digital Wallonia is one of the 19 European finalists out of 185 cases at the start, all categories combined, and is the only Belgian nominee in this category.
The list of finalists for all categories can be found here: https://blogs.ec.europa.eu/ promotingenterprise/eepa-2020-shortlist/
The award ceremony will take place at the SME Assembly in Berlin on 16 November. However, being shortlisted by the European Commission already shows magnificent international recognition for the Walloon digital sector. An award would obviously be the icing on the cake.
