Simplex Arena, EVS, Deltacast, WNM and Wollux are some of the 12 Belgian companies that have been selected for Euro 2016. These 5 Walloon companies will therefore represent our country at the next European Football Championship in France. A wonderful international calling card.

Marc Lambotte, CEO of Agoria: "Belgian technology solutions in the sporting arena have an excellent reputation abroad, which makes our country a safe bet for major international events". The selected companies have been involved in the design phase for new stadiums, the transformation of existing stadiums and even the development of "fan zones".

In purely sporting terms, much is expected from Marc Wilmots' selection, but Belgian involvement in the tournament's organisation won't go unnoticed. "With our Sports Technology Club, which promotes Belgian technology companies to the organising committees of major sporting events, we are sending a strong team of 12 to Euro 2016", states Marc Lambotte. "In recent years, members of the Agoria Sports Technology Club have won over the organisers of large sporting events by collectively offering them comprehensive solutions. This is what makes the club unique."

DELTACAST (Ans) will supply graphic solutions and high-tech products for the televised broadcasts of the football matches in numerous countries. Their products can be used in particular to 'track' offside lines, circles for free kicks and overlay the graphics, logos and adverts in real-time. More information about the new interactive presentation interface developed and marketed by DELTACAST as part of EURO 2016 can be found here.

EVS (Seraing) will be at the heart of the production of images of all the football matches. Its equipment , present in 10 stadiums and main production center in Paris , will be used to record all cameras in and around stadiums , create summaries and replays , feed the media distribution platforms, etc.

Simplex Arena (Rebecq) has replaced all the seats in the Stadium de Toulouse (33,000 seats) with full aluminium, a first in France. Even more prestigious, Simplex Arena worked closely with the Qataris of Paris Saint-Germain to renovate the entire VIP area at the Parc des Princes. The Rebecq-based company will also install the temporary stands in the Eiffel Tower fan zone at the Champ-de-Mars in Paris.

Wollux (Mouscron) will print the flags, tifos, etc. for the fan zone in Bordeaux.  Since the beginning of the year, the company has crafted some 100,000 items related to Euro 2016.

WNM (Seraing) will provide the sound engineers for the international radio broadcasts in 6 stadiums. Specialising in sound recordings for sporting services but also a whole series of televised productions (games, concerts, reality shows), it will also provide the audiovisual equipment (intercom and RF over fibre transport solutions) for several stadiums. This solution was used during the last two World Cups in South Africa and Brazil. WNM is also handling the engineering for the radio and TV studios for our Belgian channels and large international groups.

Most of these companies are also preparing for the Olympic Games in Rio. Come back this summer for more!
